Catching up with

Dad's doing well - each day is a little different with a mixture of good and bad. He might be losing a few pounds - but mentally the man is still as sharp as ever. Even falling asleep while playing Pinochle, he still manages to beat Mom and me. His red blood cell count was a bit low so they added Procrit to his arsenal of drugs. He had more blood work today so fingers crossed cause this Friday begins Round Two.

I have been helping out at Mom and Dad's the past week getting that monstrosity of an office somewhat organized. There's 30 years of papers, bills and work all in various piles. It's a good thing I like puzzles. This one is a doozie. But what Dad wants, Dad gets - that's nothing new with me for my pops.

With that said, there are a few things Dad specifically requested I put up on the blog. One of those high on the list is to send a thank you shout out to my angel nieces Emma, Paige & Soph. They sent these beautiful get well cards to Dad and Melissa sent the nicest letter and pictures of her and the girls. Dad LOVED them and Mom cried she was so touched by the gesture. Thanks Mo.
This one has Jonas Brothers so that is Em's.

And Sophie's favorite thing to do right now is spell her name.
Speaking of gifts that Dad was really touched by; Amanda and Jen were vacationing in Japan when they got the news and they got a special amulet form the Shinto Shrine for health and wellness. We found a perfect place for it in Dad's chemo bag.

Another major thing Dad wants posted is how wonderful my sister Shell has been. Not only has Michele been right on top of things with Dad's treatment, but Michele and Wade gave Mom and Dad a couple wonderful days away at their resort in Massanutin. It was just what the Dr. didn't order but should have. Shell is also there for Mom, Me, Tim and Jenel and we love her lots for it.
