Family Fun

May has some family bday's to celebrate - Jack's was yesterday - his littlest girl Olivia was on Cinco de Mayo and Aunt Irene's was last week too. Happy Birthday Youse Guys!

I just saw my Aunt Irene for mother's day. Kathleen Cormier and her fiance were up from Key West to finalize some wedding plans. Greg and I were hoping the wedding would be in the Key's - that would be a great excuse to take a nice vacation in Fla - but instead we get to spend a fun filled weekend in Delaware - oh look, Delaware.

Since Greg was in Fla with the girls I tagged along with Tim, Jenel and the Tot for the trip. Tatum was super cute in the car - even though she had to share her DVD player with her Dad. I think Tim was more into the Muppet's than Tatum was. Kinda hard to tell who the kid is in that family at times.

Since Greg was out of town Tim stepped up to the task of stretching out my E.T. shirt. The funny thing is there are guys out there running around with shirts this tight.

Tatum was, as usual, very entertaining. Here she is doing what we all do at Uncle Gil - laugh.

This picture of Uncle Gil had Timmy laughing just as hard.

Aunt Gerda is a lucky lady.

Proof that I am the shortest person in the family. My cousin's are so cute.

Doesn't Tatum look adorable in my shades?!

Jerry lookin' bad ass in the shades.

She still loves him though - actually Kathleen, a marriage full of humor is the best kind.

In addition to Kathleen and Jerry's pre-wedding fun - we were also there to celebrate our mothers. Here is my Aunt Irene with her girls.

Jenel with her little one.

And of course - my favorite reason to celebrate the day - my mommy.

Hope everyone had a very happy Mothers Day.

Sisscor Me Timbers

Organized the boxes and working on my second post – all before Greg even gets up. It’s a productive morning. I know what you are thinking – big deal – Greg gets up at noon. Well Not today my friends. He has a 9 am wake up call. Off to go do some 1-800-askGreg computer help for the Crosses.

So why I have a quick minute I'll post about Karen & Shannon's visit. They were both here for Shanon's sisters wedding. With Greg in Florida it was a great opportunity to party BFF Style. In addition to K2 and ShanOff, Thanh and Keri, Amanda, Dan came all the way from WV and of course 'da Bells were all over. Jadyn used this time to entertain us with her freaky double jointed gymnastic antics.

Ouch

Shannon didn't come solo - she brought her hubby, Danny. That's right, married. Shannon and Danny eloped last month and we are all thrilled for Danny - he was lucky enough to get a wonderful girl. Shannon didn't do too bad in the spousal department either. We all like Danny lots. Aww, look at the happy couple.

Even though Karen and I ran around all weekend we did have fun together and Greg and I have plans to head out to Atlanta in August. For what you ask? Why do I usually visit Karen - to help her move. Yes, Karen has some aversion to staying more than a year in one location. But as you can see from my previous post, I am a moving master and I will rock that move yet again. We are also super excited to see the new Bourne film that will be released that weekend - The Bourne Ultimatum. Karen and I LOVE those movies! And after checking out the trailer for the new movie - this one is bound to be just as awesome.

Gotta go do some work now and then I have a nice mid afternoon nap to look forward to.

The Gift that Keeps on Giving

The blog, much like my life takes a back seat around this time of the year. But soon the company meetings will be a memory and I will be able to go back to bitchin' about other things rather than just work.

To add to my already stressed out life - this donation drive for the families whose homes burnt down is a LOT more work than I originally anticipated. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel and the fact that we raised almost $8,000 for the families makes it worth the work. In addition to money - we also collected clothing, shoes, and household items. People were very generous (or were cleaning out their closets) we collected over 70 boxes and bags of goodies. A good 20 of it went on to the families and they were very thankful. Now I bet you are asking yourself, what happened to the left over boxes - you guessed it... Casa de Fissell. You can just imagine how thrilled Greg is. Who knew it was such an inconvenience for charity organizations to come pick up so much stuff. 95% of which I think they would be grateful to receive - 5% pure crap. (I ask you - who would think to themselves - hum, used underpants, I think I will donate these dirty, disgusting, Used underpants? Actually, I take that back, I am not asking cause I just don't want to know the answer to that question)

This brings me to 50 boxes that will be in our lives for 2 weeks - seriously, there must be an organization out there that is willing to pick these up sooner. Or at least have someone answering the phone that wasn’t forced to do community service as part of their sentence. (Maybe it’s just me, but I would think if you are working at a donation drive and someone calls with a huge donation, you could be a bit nicer than the person I had the pleasure of speaking with yesterday.) Delightful people aside, I did find a way to organize the boxes so that they are not a huge inconvenience AND Greg can still park in the garage.

Since I knew my dad would be proud of his little girl - here's a picture of the boxes in the garage and the few that spilled over into the family room. I do love a good logistical puzzle.

I'll Put You On The Streets.

Happy Birthday to our precious Sophia Taylor Eagney! Have a great day Soph! Wish I was there to give you lots of birthday kisses.

Soph shares her birthday with another one of my favorite people – one Mr. David Gahan!

Looking for a pic of Dave I came across this one which dates back to when I first started listening to Depeche back in 1986 - Hey - we were all dorky back in the '80's!

OMG!!!!

I totally didn't even see that Greg posted that video clip until I checked my post on Florida! I see he did get some things accomplished while I was away. Lucky me. Guess it goes to show you to be careful what you wish for. Enjoy it why you can - it will not stay up there long. In my defense - there was a lot of wine in my system.

I am never drinking again.

Bear. Beets. Battlestar Galactica

Woo Hoo, I passed my SAFE Instructor training. I got a 96 on my test which bums me out cause I really wanted a 100 - it sucks too cause I got the answers right, but swapped. I was so revved up from the fighting, I called Greg on my way home all excited, but by the time I made it home I was exhausted - I went from 90 mph to zilch. I was too tired to even hang my keys up on the hook, I came in and dropped 'em on the floor then dragged my self upstairs.

Because I have to prove what a brute I am, the cops let me fight full out. It was a lot of fun. The goal was to use your SAFE techniques when fighting. But when I put the cop in a head lock and threw a few hooks into his head, it got a big laugh out of the cops even though it is not an official technique. I was one of 3 girls testing and the rest of the guys were cops who were learning how to be aggressors so we had to run through the scenarios over and over. I am so frickin sore now.

Check it out - I am official now - even have a SAFE shirt with my name on it and everything.
