Trick Or Treat

Amanda and Jen had their annual Halloween party. As always, it was a blast. Each year is themed and her friends really pull out all the stops so the pressure is always on to participate.

This year the theme was Movies. I figured my best chance of getting Greg to participate was to go as someone from Star Wars so I went as Princess Leia. Yet even going as one of the characters in Greg's favorite movie was not enough to get him to participate - so I just told everyone he was going as Morgan Freedman's character in Driving Ms. Daisy and was just dropping off Joc and me and picking us up after we got our drink on.

Here's a few pictures of the evening. Here's the hostesses Amanda & Jen or rather Regan and the priest from Exorcist.

Here I am with Jocelyn, her man wasn't feeling well so she was stag too.

Jocelyn was a beautiful Vampires

Here's one for Melis - It's 1986 David Bowie from the movie Labyrinth

This cute little bundle is Ellie - she was such a good baby and was very intrigued by my fake lashes.

Here is Kim in my favorite costume of the night - Eddie Munster - complete with Eddie's toy doll Wolf Wolf!

Amanda's kittie Jasper is so cute but she is extremely camera shy. She takes off if you even think of taking her picture - She even runs if you try to take her picture with a cell phone. But you underestimate the power of the force. I am patient and sneaky and it paid off with this very rare photo of my furry friend.

Here's me and Chewbacca chillin' after saving the planet from the dark side.

Flip through the slide show for even more fun photos of the evening.

Thanks to Champs and Amanda for another fun filled evening.

Happy Halloween!

Look out Xmas

First Look: The Star Wars Vault
March 14, 2007

Ever wonder what it would be like to pour over Lucas' original handwritten story treatment for Empire, or thumb through a photo album given to the cast and crew of A New Hope? Do you regret throwing out that rare program book for a 1978 Star Wars concert performed by John Williams, or that ticket stub to the one and only licensed Star Wars Circus? And just where did that Star Wars t-shirt go that you wore as a kid? Well, fans can now relive the Star Wars saga as insiders, concert goers, t-shirt savvy kids and others would have experienced it in a massive new interactive tome called The Star Wars Vault from Harper Entertainment.
Written by Lucasfilm's Steve Sansweet and Pete Vilmur, The Star Wars Vault recounts the history of the pervasive saga which spans three decades and has generated scores of paraphernalia -- items readers can now unfold, flip over, touch, and even hear -- reproduced script pages, tickets, blueprints, catalogs, stickers, sheet music, audio interviews, radio spots, radio drama excerpts and more. But these are just the beginning of this mega-scrapbook of all things Star Wars.
The Star Wars Vault will include:
50 interactive, rare and some never-before-published memorabilia, including reproductions of Lucas's own handwritten script pages, flip-through catalogs, swag, posters, T-shirt transfers, tattoos, stickers, blueprints, production notes, animation cells and much more!
Hundreds of photos and pieces of artwork.
2 CDs containing over 2 hours of vintage radio ads, original cast interviews, excerpts from the NPR Star Wars radio drama, the complete Star Tours soundtrack, George Lucas's commentary and other tracks that tell the story of everyone's favorite galaxy battle as never before.
Look for The Star Wars Vault in book stores this fall.

Yoda: Star Wars Jedi Master stamp

The Star Wars Saga souvenir sheet of postage stamps featuring Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Chewbacca, Princess Leia Organa and R2-D2, C-3PO, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Emperor Palpatine, stormtroopers, Boba Fett, the Millennium Falcon, an X-wing starfighter, Queen Padmé Amidala, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, and Darth Maul created by Star Wars poster artist Drew Struzan was offered by the United States Postal Service (USPS) this last Spring.
By popular vote from stamp collecting customers, Jedi Master Yoda was deemed the most favorite character of the Star Wars souvenir sheet of first class stamps. As such, Yoda is now featured in a pane of 20 stamps.
Known for his unique speech of ending sentences in verbs, mischievous, benevolent and the teacher who has mastered the enigmatic wisdom and power of the Force, it is easy to understand how Yoda became one of the most beloved characters in the Star Wars saga.
"Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship.”
“Remember, a Jedi’s strength flows from the Force. But beware. Anger, fear, aggression. The dark side are they. Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.”
"Do or do not… there is no try.”

Mike and Chris

Cant remember if I had posted these. We went to see Mike play baseball a couple weeks ago at Robinson High School. I had to get pics with him because every time we see him now he has grown a couple more inches.

after the game we went to Wakefield Skate park to see Chris. He was trying to be studly in front of all the girls there with his shirt off.

It's A Bird, It's A Plane, It's Amanda!

Check it out - it's Amanda Farrar jumping out of a plane! A friend from high school, Jason Whitt, is now a skydiving instructor just outside Richmond and somehow he talked Amanda into jumping and as you can see in the video - she loved it. I happened to have called Amanda just minutes after she landed on Saturday and she sounded like she was still flying high.

I haven't seen Jason in years - but he looks great in the video and I am looking forward to seeing him the next time he is in NOVA. Jason works at
www.skydivewestpoint.com - check it out if you are interested. I promised my mom years ago I would never jump - it was pretty important to her and I never really wanted to jump so it was an easy compromise. It's not the flying that would bother me - but the landing. Coordination is not my strong suit.

This Old House

I have been meaning to post these before and after pictures of my cousin Suzanne's kitchen. She did a great job designing it. And even though I was a fan of the retro kitchen - the new kitchen is tons better.
Here's the before pics - It's so June Cleaver.

Seriously, have you ever seen a kitchen this color blue before? What is it? Seafoam?

Just look how lovely.

She had the wall torn down and it made a world of difference.

I love the new colors.

Now this is more Suz.

Nice job Cousin! I love the new kitchen - and you.

HSM on Ice at GMU Patriot Center

some pix of us and Jadyn at HSM on Ice last night at the Patriot Center. Jadyn and Karen sang all the words to every song. Had some Baja Fresh burritos on the way there. They made my Nacho Burrito sans Nacho Cheese. Not cool.

When we came home Jadyn read my Star Wars encyclopedia and we made plans to watch the Clone Wars cartoon on dvd next time.

Another Birthday

Hope my other mother Bobbie is having a fabulous birthday.

With her new hair cut and new figure she is looking younger than ever. Here she is with her little Haley showing off her new do.

It's hard to believe that my mother Bobbie and my father are the same zodiac sign. They are two of my favorite people but they are both very different.

JP update

It is so difficult to think about all that JP, Dale, John and Stacey are going through right now. Our hearts go out to them but JP is a strong little man and he will fight this and will probably end up being the cutest bald kid to ever fight cancer. JP is on the right.

JP has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and he started his first round of medication yesterday. The tests have come back to show that it has been localized to the one mass and is treatable and curable. He is at Fairfax Hospital and they have a wonderful site called CarePages. It is a site the families can use to help keep everyone updated. It also has a section that gives tips and suggestions for what you can do for the family which is great, especially if you are like me and feel like you are at a loss on what to say or do to help.

Click here to visit JP Law's online CarePage.
A personalized Web page created for JP, so you can easily receive the latest news, view photos and share messages of support.

Hippo Birdy Two Ewes

Yesterday we celebrated Tim, Jenel and Dad's birthday - on Dad's day of birth. We had dinner and cake at mom and dad's. It was nice to hang with Mike and Chris and the Tot down in the nicely finished basement with the new pool table. Now I just need to convince them they need a in ground pool in the back yard. That would keep us all coming back.

Check out this beautiful smile on Tatum. It's not an easy task, I had to trick her to smile by showing her teeth to Benny.

Benny was the hit of the party. Here Chris is being charmed by Ben.

Of course when your cat is as cute as Benny - he is bound to steal the show.

Here is the Birthday boy - pretty good shot taken by Tatum. She is a natural photographer - look out Greg.

Here is Tatum trying to wipe her booger onto my shirt. She is the seed of Tim's loins - does anyone expect any less? Boomshanka.

Case in point - Tim fingering the cake.

Tatum sang for each birthday boy and girl - I think this one was PaPa's version.

Tatum was instructing Mike to take a nap.

See kids - a nap will help keep you strong. Here is Mike doing a take down on his mom.

Happy Birthday everyone. This month is Mother Bobbie's b-day too, then next month it's Mike, Mom, Shell and Wade. Just when you are broke - what do you know - it's already Christmas. And then it's Emma, Paige and Jadyn's birthdays. You wonder why Greg is such a joy around the holiday's.

Dad goes Wii

After our visit to JP, we went over to Glf Sr to set up his wicked awesome Wii. I cannot wait 'til Santa brings ours so I can woop Sr.'s butt via the intranet like I did today. Ok so he won in bowling, but that doesn't count. He's been bowling longer than I have been alive so he has the upper hand on me in that one.

I keep trying to convince Dad and MCD that they need an animal for me to play with while I am over there but this is as close as I can get. There is a stray kittie that comes to the back door when you shake the treat can. I coaxed him/her into the house but he/she is very skittish and likes to keep distance. Don't you think a cute cat like this would be right at home at Dad's?!

It took Gregory forever to get the system all set up on the Internet but it gave me time to set up all of our mii characters on wii.

12 hours after we left the house we are finally home just in time to watch the Foo Fighters on SNL. Nothing like a little Dave and Tyler as the last thing I see before I fall asleep.

They sound just as good live as they do on the best album of the year. As KJR can attest to as that lucky beotch got to see them in one of 2 shows they did in the states before they start their tour overseas. I guess because Bon Jovi sang a song in the opening monologue they only had time for one song which blows cause I would take the Foo's over Bon Jovi any day - especially a new Bon Jovi song. Lame. If they did play a second song it prollie would have been Long Road to Ruin since its supposed to be the next single released.

But Ransom would have preferred if they played But, Honestly

SNL was pretty lame over all last night - at least they had a Digital Short by Andy who is the only reason to watch SNL this season.

Believe in your dreams!!!!

JP Hospital Visit

From there we headed over to the hospital to visit our buddy JP. John and Stacey's little guy JP was just diagnosed with lymphoma. They found it really early and it looks good that it hasn't traveled, but the sweetheart has 6 months of chemo ahead of him. He is just enjoying the Nintendo and toys right now. He was enjoying taking some pictures - maybe we can give him the old camera to give him something to do.

Pumpkinville in 15 minutes

Why head all the way to Leesburg to eat? We were meeting up with Tatum and Chris at Pumkinville later in the day. Bring it on down to Pumkinville.

36 going on 14

too fast!

It was kinda lame so I had to find ways to entertain myself, but once the kids finally arrived it was less lame. There was an awesome turtle that is 80 years old - and he is still just a youngin. He moved just a bit faster than Dad. Poor dad wasn't feeling well so he headed home early.

Tim getting some shots of the kid with the animals

Chris got into a wrestling match with the hungry camel. Drool everywhere

All the other goats were feeling inadequate next to this goat with the huge balls.

Speaking of balls - check out the crazy hairdo on this cock.

Speaking of cocks - check out the sweet artwork on the back of a van on the way home. Now that is talent.

oh wait, that's not the one...here it is
