Tatumpalooza
Not only have Tatum and Carlee become the bestest of friends, they are also starting to look like one another. Tatum looks a LOT like her cousin Carlee in this picture. Uncle Gil didn't believe me it was Tatum and not Carlee.
There are times when I couldn't possibly love Tot more - and then she goes and develops a love of puzzles. The stinker is good at them too.
She didn't inherit that gene from her Dad - here Tim is having difficulty with the Betty Boop puzzle.
But Tater's shows him how it's done. And then bites her Aunt Karen - nice. Don't worry - she's not actually biting - we are goofing around.
Then we played airplane for a bit - word of warning if you play airplane with Tatum - Get a spotter - the girl has no fear and she throws her arms and legs out with wild abandonment.
I am not the only one Tatum has wrapped around her little finger - the list is long and high up on the list is Uncle Greg.
Lot's more pics in the slide show of Tatum's antics.

Eat My Dust
What do you do if you cannot sleep in the middle of the night- blog. Here's the rest of the pics from Va Beach - more importantly Go Carting at Va Beach.
Michele and Uncle John have uploaded their photos - but since they insist on using shutterfly I am unable to upload a slideshow. When will people realize Google is the best (true that, double true). Instead here's the links to see their pictures - Michele's pics - MeJ's pics. Heads up - of the 227 pictures Shell took - almost 200 were the kids playing in the pool. Another heads up - MeJ's pics included some of Dad before the trip - it threw me a little seeing pictures of Dad I haven't seen before. So much of this throws me still. I felt like such an idiot yesterday at the dentist getting my teeth cleaned. I am not good when I am alone with my thoughts and I started thinking of Dad and next thing I know I am crying. So in addition to the shower and the car I guess I am going to have to add the dentist to my list of places I cry.
Any who - I pulled out a few of my favorite pictures from Shell & MeJ's to share.
If you have just happened by this site you may judge us a little by how we grieve - but most likely you are reading this cause you know us and know we have our unique ways of honoring Dad. For instance taking Dad's picture to one of our favorite restaurants in VB. Here's a good shot of Suz, Carlee and Mom with Dad.

And a group shot.

We also brought a bottle of SoCo with us which mom decorated with a picture of Dad. May be weird to others, but to us it just brings Dad a bit closer.

Plus - you end up with drunk Aunt Nancy. I LOVE it when drunk Aunt Nancy comes out to play.

Here's a cute pic of the SulliBeck kids at play at the aquarium.
Of the pictures of before Ft. Story - this one is of a story that will be told once or twice. I accidentally dropped Dad's pill box - it contained a weeks worth of his pills - AM and PM - and it was Just refilled that morning. Needless to say pills were everywhere. And since some of his pills were doozies - we had to make sure we got them all.

Found this one in UJ's stash of me and my Dad.

For those of you who caught the Clerks cartoon reference in the slide show of the go carts - thanks to youtube - here is the point of reference. I know it's late (or early) and I am super tired - but this clip cracks me up and I needed a good laugh.
Axel Foley, Judge Reinhold. Oh No.

Whose Got Two Thumbs and A Football Team That Kicks Butt?
This Girl!
Yeah, that's right the Eagles kicked off the season winning 38 to 3. Who cares if the Rams are a crap team, we still had fun hanging at Mom and Dad's with the family. Tatum was exceptionally cute, the nephews were charming, and Tim was Very, Very LOUD. I think everyone has accepted that with Dad up above, the Eagles are going to have an amazing year. Even Michael, Wade and GLF Sr. are honorary fans this season. Don't worry - even though my favorite Dad-in-law has decided to root for the greatest team in the world, I will not take the high road and root for the Skins. Gotta keep some of the sport of our Sunday texting wars alive.
Below are some pictures from Va Beach - it was not the same without Dad there - but it was still a good time with the best family ever. I don't think I ever had that much fun in shark infested waters than with my cousins - and Aunt Nancy, who is like a kid herself when she gets in the water.
I still have a few pics of the last day to add to the slideshow - I took a bunch of pictures at Motor World - not sure how they turned out as many of them were taken while kicking butt driving Go Carts. It's amazing with a bum wrist, and taking pictures, I still manage to be the greatest go cart driver in VA Beach. I took those turns like a pro. I know Dad was proud - I get my desire to win from him.
The slideshow is below - here are a few of my favorites...
Suzie and her playmate - err, I mean kid Carlee.
Tatum tots picking up sea shells - or diphtheria - the bay was disgusting.
Picture of all the kids before they took over the pool - seriously - everyone left after the Becks hit the pool.
Tatum made her Aunt Karen so happy when she showed off her aptitude for being a puzzle master. I kid you not - she actually found a piece to the grown up puzzle - after she mastered hers.
The whole Famn Damily.
The BFF's - Tatum & Carlee.
Old Skol BFF's - and by old skol I mean the retro cool originals - not the Old in age originals.
Everyone had kids to look after so I had the duties of looking after the boys. Aside from them bugging me to drive and help them get girls phone numbers - they were a load of fun.
The answer to what happened to Tim's shades as finally been answered.
Mom and her Bro Gilbert.

Wacko Kid
Tatum goes from good to bad in 2.3 seconds. This pic was seconds after a tantrum to ride the dinosaur. Which of course she rode.

Dad
We had a lot of smiles, laughter and tears pulling together these pictures of Dad for the slideshow. It's true how pictures speak louder than words and throughout these pictures you can see how family, friends, work and fun were what Dad lived for. We will never forget how lucky we are to have known and loved Jerry Beck.
Back in July a friend sent me the video clip below and there was something about it that was so moving. I cannot tell you how many times I played it - it lifted my heart. One night, I was with Dad on the deck (no surprise there) :) and shared it with him. He loved it too. It wasn't just the beautiful locations around the world, the smiles of the kids involved, or the music; all of it together created something uplifting and gave me a sense of hope. Together Dad and I read more about the guy who created it, watched some of the outtakes and laughed. When we were pulling songs together about Dad, I thought about adding it, but wasn't sure. When I uploaded the song to itunes, a link to the lyrics popped up and upon reading the lyrics, I knew I would.
I will not easily forget
The life that stirs in my soul
Hidden amidst Death
That infinite Life
I hear you in the thunder
A simple tune
A tune to which I will arise
And in that storm of happiness
As your music plays in your mind
The whole wide world
Dances to your rhythm
- Lyrics adapted from the poem "Stream Of Life" from Gitanjali by Rabindranath Tagoreby, sung in Bengali by Palbasha Siddique.

Dad taught us a lot over the years about family, strength of character, joy of music and especially love. We will struggle with the loss of Dad, but by holding strong to what he taught us over the years we will get through this together. We will keep him alive in our hearts with the help of the best family ever, lots of stories, music, and a deck of cards. For Dad, we love you Always - Greg and YPK

Tonight We're Gonna Party Like It's 1988
I spent most of my High School years hanging out with classes other than my own. Until my senior year I hung out with Amanda, Kathy, Christine and Wendy and the class of 88. So, it seemed fitting that I crash their reunion. We had a very good time catching up with everyone. It's amazing how many people still live in the area. I was excited to find out Chris is back home from Texas, even though it's been years since we hung out, seeing each other it's like no time had passed (until you remember she has a couple kids, the oldest Emily is 14 - crazy).
I have a few pics from Sat night - but hopefully I will get some pictures from Chris of the slideshow and from Friday night.

Meet the Cochrans
Since I was crashing Kathy's 20 year reunion, it was only fitting that Kath and family crash at our house for the weekend. We had a great time reminiscing and playing with Kath and Cory's two wonderful little girls - Kelsey who just turned 5 and Ava who is 2 on Christmas. They are two of the best behaved little girls and you know how much I love well behaved children. It also worked out for us that they missed their flight home cause we got another day and Cory put up 5 light fixtures in half an hour - without even turning off the power. Another day delayed and we might have some crown molding.
Below is a slideshow of the good times.
